It is made with steel and has powder metal which is mixed with diamond crystals and heated and carved into diamond segments, which are also known as the cutting teeth of the blade. The cutting teeth are then attached to the steel core through welding. The other techniques include electroplating the diamond crystal directly to the steel core, or brazing is also used to create a single layered diamond blade.
